I went home for a month to South Dakota and Minnesota after going two years without seeing my family. I didn't touch a bird for a MONTH. I didn't know I was capable of that!

Anyway, merry Christmas and happy new year to you all; my crazy bird loving internet friends! Here's to an exciting new year!

Any super interesting Christmas stories that need to be told?

 WOW, Dani! How did you ever manage? How often did you call home, and how did your flock react upon your return? :D Is everyone all right?

So happy to hear you got to see your family, and spend the Holidays with them! Was it cold enough for you? :54:

It was hard, and the flock is cranky, but they actuLly don't seem overly phased. My husband was here for half the time, and the birds are all in the same room so even though they didn't have me, they always have each other, and MOST of their flock never left, just the ever-so-unreliable humans! The dog and cat were much more upset.

It was good to see everyone, of course a month seems like a long time but it was VERY rushed with everyone loving all over the place, and us Going to Ohio in the middle of it all.

And yes, it was very cold!

A month? Must've been tough. But I imagine it must've been great to see family again after 2 years! They must've been thrilled!

I'm glad your flock handled it okay, save a little crankiness. A bigger issue would've been tough, especially given the sheer number of birds you own. Calming down an enraged flock of that size would likely have looked like a scene out if "The Birds"! Haha!

I bet you missed the birds and other animals! Great that you got to go "home" though after not seeing family for so long :).

Welcome back to your flock! Glad you got to do that visit with your family. That's so important.

Dani, your family must have been thrilled to have you home for a month! I bet it was tough to get through the visit without touching a single bird.

The temperature wasn't so much the issue as the dry air! My skin and sinuses went insane.

My family was very happy, let's just say I hope not to go that long again!

It would have been ugly, fortunately most of my flock is really very stable as a unit, and the crankiness is manifesting itself mostly in cuddles, fortunately for me!
