She won't let me preen her!!!

Okay, so this may sound silly but this is becoming a huge problem. Toulouse has never let me preen her, she will let me pet under her wings, her belly, and she will preen me, but her pin feathers are OFF LIMITS. Can someone give me some advice? She has a millon pin feathers and I can tell that they are itchy, I have never had this issue before with any of my birds!!

P.S: sometimes I can manage to preen ONE pin feather, but she hardly ever lets me do that.

I'm no expert but i did just recently finished reading parrots for dummies and i believe they mentioned showering/bathing/misting to ease the itches

If you haven't already, you might try preening when you are in a quiet area where you won't be interrupted by loud noises or people/animals. I have found that my macaw will allow preening, but only when she feels relaxed.
