Cairo the Ekkie!
Cairo's officially molting!!! I had suspected since he was dropping body feathers left and right, but during his shower today, I finally saw his pin feathers :) so excited for him! Hoping he fills out his patchy areas soon.

My main concern is that we go out almost every other day with him wearing his Aviator harness. Now, his pin feathers are right where the harness rests. He hasn't fiddled with his harness (which he will do if his feathers are out of place until I tuck them back in place underneath the harness), but I do worry if he spooks off and the harness breaks a pin feather. Is that an actual risk, or am I just worrying too much?

I've not heard of that happening, I guess anything is possible, but I highly doubt that the Aviator Harness will hurt any of his new pin feathers...I'd say go ahead and use it as usual as long as it's not bothering him...If he starts to chew or yank on the Harness then it's probably causing him pain from rubbing against the immature pin feathers, but otherwise I wouldn't think it's an issue at all...
