I've heard that macaws eventually reach this stage after they go through their "terrible two's", but what is this "everlasting toddler" stage? How long does it take to reach this stage?
Thanks,
-Joseph

I have not heard of the 'everlasting toddler" stage, not saying that it does not exist.
Sure all birds go throught the "terrible two's"
My AG Mishka is now almost three, and believe me she will always be a toddler and will never ever grow up. Not sure is there is another "toddler" stage, at least for her anyway. :07:

Found a link which might interest you pertaining to the "terrible twos' "

I've never heard of the everlasting toddler stage either but I think what they mean by it is that living with a parrot is like living with a toddler, they get into everything and you can't take your eyes off them for one minute!

The terrible twos happen to large to extra large species, the smaller species go through it earlier because they mature sexually at a younger age. It's the time of their lives when they are ready and anxious to leave the nest (and the parents) and start a life of their own in the wild and when they, sometimes, turn on their owners in captivity. It's like puberty for humans.

Yeah, I don't think this is a stage.... I think it is a term to describe macaws...or most parrots... in general. Living with one is like having a forever toddler....they never grow up 100% .... alway constant work and needing your attention.

Hmmmm perhaps thats why parrots live so long, maybe there's something to the "Peter Pan" philosophy......refuse to grow up :p
