So, recently I've been seriously thinking about bring Indi (a rescue B&G Macaw) home with me. I volunteer at the local shelter, (where she is) so we know each other already. We think she's around 1-2 years old. As of now, we interact with her around 2-3 hours a day, and she's out for another two (altogether 4 hours out) We know this isn't enough for her, but she seems to enjoy the company of other birds throughout the day.
I've done truckloads of reasearch, but have some general questions that I couldn't find an answer too, and hoping that you Macaw owners could help me answer a few questions! Here goes:

-How long do you spend with your Macaw each day?

-How long would be the limit your Macaw could go alone (without people)?

-Do you think 5-7 hours a day of attention is enough? (this time is a total time)

-Any other things you wish you found out before owning a Macaw?

-Does your Macaw get along well with your other birds? (I know this depends on the bird, but would still like to know)

Thanks for any answers in advance! :blue1:

I have a male 17yr old Orange Wing Amazon named Mr. Precious & a 15yr old female Harlequin Macaw named Merlin & a 3 year old male GW named Rocco.
I'm disabled so my birds spend all day every day with me but 5-7 hours is a good bit for someone who works. My macs do not like each other so I have separate tree stands for them. I'm new to macs so I will stop there.
