Just saw this pair of 2 year old blue & gold macaws for sale at my local pet store.
they are being sold as a breeding pair for $3,500.

I wonder what happened to that one's tail? I hope it's okay and not from plucking or the other macaw it's with. I also hope someone doesn't purchase them who doesn't know what they're doing...

They aren’t old enough to breed and they may or may not choose to do so. I would also want to know if the pet store can guarantee they are not related!

I think both of them have full tails, it's just the photo makes it look that way.
1 of the 2 has a slightly chipped lower beak otherwise they look just beautiful.

I don't know if they can guarantee they are not related as I did not ask. even if they are not related I would think there is no guarantee they would breed.
I was just overwhelmed by there beauty.

I know 2 years old is to young to breed, I don't even know at what age macaws enter puberty .

I don't have the room, money, time, or ear plugs (they were LOUD) to buy and care for them. I just wanted to post the picture. I also don't want to see them stay in a pet shop for months and months.

I just thought if someone is seriously interested in this pair they can PM me and I can give the name of the pet shop and location. I thought the price reasonable if they are what they are advertised as being.

Two year olds as breed pair, yaaa! No guarantee with that pair of any kind. Way to young to even be classified as such!
