So last night I went to pull Bella out of her cage and it broke. Bella has a dome top style cage & she loves to come out of the top of her cage. Well, I went to pull her out and half of the dome literally broke off and almost killed her. Thank God I yelled her name and she flew out the other cage door [which was open] and I used my hand to shield her from the parts that were collapsing. I contacted the store I bought it from and they have ordered a new cage for me for free. The store obviously has GREAT customer service because they also asked how Bella was doing and wanted to make sure that through all of this that she was alright :) I'm thankful my little Bella is okay! So warning to everyone. Make sure everything is screwed on VERY TIGHT. i would hate to see this same situation but with a different outcome!

Thank you Mellykyitus & Phoenix Rising! I'm so glad my baby is safe. New cage is ordered and is set to be delivered to the store early-mid next week! I'm going to triple check the cage before she gets in to make sure that she will be safe. Bella is recovering well...she's lost a bit of weight due to stress from being moved out of her cage for a bit but I have been feeding her extra warm meals & extra treats to make sure she puts that weight back on [she is on the petite side and has been trying to gain weight for awhile!!]

Whew, close shave!

So glad Bella is ok <3

Cal's first cage had an open top similar to yours except square and 2 sides. I hated it so much that my hubby made a perch to jam between the two sides while she was out because she did so like using the top exit.

Glad the shop is replacing it for you because it would be awful for a different part to collapse!

Von, the perch is a good idea and I will have to see if the boyfriend will whip one up for me :] it'd be a nice security touch !

Ahhh your cage has 2 bits that open at the top too? Yes, it is peace of mind and Cal used to love it. We just got a perch that was too big, sawed it down and cut grooves into the ends to fit the bars.

I just didn't like the look of them even though they stood stiff on their own? I didn't think it'd be too long until they slackened!!!

Very easy to do :D

Von-

I never even left hers open.. I only used it to get her in and out & it broke on me!! So this next cage will definitely have a perch to fit the top :]
