None as of yet - looking to own a conjure. !
For the longest time I have wanted a parrot, I have always had the desire to want to bond and take care of one, nd call my own, I understand they are alot of work, and very enjoyable to have around, yet very jealous as well, anyway I am in the midst of doing my research, I own my own home,my wife and i own 2 cats and a dog who by the way is blind and hard of hearing, my wife is a veterinarian technician ( 12 yrs. ) and absolutely loves ALL ANIMALS, anyway our dog is definitely hers  ,I'm hoping to purchase my soon to be little buddy conure within the next 2 - 4 months at most this will be my first time owning a bird therefore is there anything you can suggest that will make this transition for us a little bit easier. Thank you in advance for any help you may have...:green2:

Welcome! Everyone here will be more than willing to help you in your decision to pick your new feathered family member!

Are there any birds you have in mind? What is your home situation like so we know if a loud bird wouldn't work in an apartment, etc.

I don't live in an apt I already mentioned that I own my own home, I'm not exactly sure what kind of bird I want unless of course a conure already answers your question. ! Although I would like ,for my first bird, a relatively quiet one but its not a must after all they are all loud in one form or other.

Two things 1. change your picture there acccck!
2.Get the book Birds for Dummies and use the check list to help you narrow down the type of bird.
oh and 3. welcome!

Welcome to the forum! I love my little green cheek conure. Parrots for Dummies is a great informational book. You can get it cheap on amazon, or if there's an Ollie's near you, I got a copy there for $5. :)

Welcome to the forum!
It sounds as if you are well prepared for this new parrot, whatever you choose.
Just remember that no matter how well your new fid turns out, you'll need to do a lot more cleaning!

I agree with that book parrots for dummies. I bought it used from amazon it is a very informative easy to read with a ton of useful info whether you are new to parrots or not. WE just bought a 5 mo old yellow sided green cheek conure about 3 weeks ago and she is a little doll. Her coloring is gorgeous. She was actually my dream bird so hopefully my flock is now complete. I would also suggest reading the forums of the birds your interested in and asking questions. welcome to the forum .:D
