So after receiving some much needed advice I thought it would only be polite to formally introduce myself. I started my parrot adventure last summer when I bought a rescue American Yellow parrotlet. I'd wanted one for several years but had never found one close enough to me. From what I was told, my bird (whom I've named Ella) lived her entire life as a breeder with no human interaction, and as a result, is very scared of humans and hands in particular. Progress has been very slow but she no longer panics when my hand is in her cage and knows to summon me when she thinks her food dish is getting too empty.

As for me, I'm just a sophomore in highschool and you can call me Tess :) I'll soon be taking in a budgie and a blue crown conure so I'm sure I'll have more questions/updates in the future.
