Hello All! My name is Tammy and I am new to this forum, although I have recently posted a thread concerning my new Ekkie, Kodi. I am not only new to this thread but also new to Eclectus Parrots. I previously had a Congo African Gray, whom I adored. (Sadly, I lost him in a nasty divorce.)
I am not new, however, to animals. My husband and I have a very small farm on the Central Coast in California. We foster, rescue, and restore many different animals. We also just have pets who we love dearly...50+ of them!
I have several years worth of wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and education. I am so thankful for those experiences as they taught me A LOT about many different species, their natural environments, and their natural diets.
We adopted Kodi, our Eclectus, about two months ago now. While there has definately been a learning curve with him, we are finally becoming very good friends. He was instantly attracted to my husband, so I have had to be very intentional about being Kodi's friend. He truly is a very sweet bird who just wants to be included in every single aspect of our lives!
Thank you all for this forum and for your contributions to it. It has made our transition into Eclectus parenthood much more enjoyable.
Blessings!
