I just realized I never really introduced myself, and there was a thread to do so.
Cue the credits.

Birds:
Upcoming. It is currently an adorable pink blob and under mom's butt. I will be keeping you guys updated.
Other Pets:
Rocky the mini Dachshund (born in 2009), Significant other, and some fish (3 different corycats, 2 ghost shrimp, and a glass catfish that seems to think it's a deadly predator). Technically I have a cat, but it doesn't live with me. It stays at my mother in law's house to keep her company 24/7 and there can enjoy the outdoors.
About Me:
Generally uninteresting. I dabble in lots of things but have a couple devoted passions: video games, art, writing, and learning things. I like to know stuff. I like to learn more stuff. Stuff brings me happiness. I got into Law because it allows me to learn things at an alarmingly fast rate to sate my desire to know stuff. The catch is, I can't tell anyone what I learn (super special secrets hahahahah). It also makes good use of my ability to write and practice perspective challenges.
I am a normal person that suffers from depression and social anxiety. I've been actively fighting both tooth and nail for the past couple of years and I've made a lot of progress.
I have always loved birds, seeing them as a symbol of freedom. As a birthday present to myself, I got a tattoo of a Lilac Breasted Roller on my left shoulder (the bottom image was the reference for it). I shortly after bailed on my worthless cashier job at a gas station after I miraculously managed to land a paralegal position. I am still in school, albeit it's a small one and not much of one, so I really only go to class maybe once or twice a week. The rest is all online.
It was a dream of mine to get a bird to have as a friend more than a pet.
Now that I've gotten a lot more stable in my life and capable, I'm on the path to get one. I'm really excited.
As I mentioned before, I like to learn. As such, I am a researcher. Expect to see me here a lot, snooping on things I need to know to prepare me, my hubby, and my home. Research is actually how I found out the bird I am getting, and will pave my way to birbmom life. I imagine like all "Mom" things, it'll be a bit rocky at first but I'm hoping to ease into the new lifestyle before going cold turkey. My significant other is willing and happy for me, and best of all, supportive.
If you have any questions or advice for me, I'm happy to hear it.
Cue the credits.
