Conure Love is in the Air ❤

Hello everyone! I'm Danni T, and I have my mind set on being the owner of a green cheek conure! The more I learn about birds the more I Fall In Love, but I also have learned that birds are complicated and intelligent, and before I buy one I need to be a part of a group like this to better prepare not just my experience, but to take proper care of my companion.

I'm interested in learning all of the good and the frustrating things about owning a conure, and I'm open to hear all kinds of advice!

GCCs... they are wonderful... I'm excited for you.
Meanwhile? Settle in, read, enjoy. I suggest traveling the Conure Forum and using the Search Tab for "GCC/Green Cheek Conure" basics.

Welcome to you! I must say , just as I was typing, I realized my JoJo was gone! The sun is just setting and he put himself to bed! They are really complex individuals! No different than you or I! Not even remotely a ‘pet’!

hello there!

Do have a read up and take in info, in some ways bird care is incredibly hard BUT if you think things through and don't expect much of a bird things can work out amazingly!

As a side note Green Cheeks are totally top birds! They'll drive you to the absolute brink of madness and then do one thing to make you melt!

Welcome Danni, thanks for taking the role of "parront" seriously. In addition to reading, you may find local shelters/rescues or possibly breeders as source of hands-on experience.

Check-out the Conure forum, tons of information there about Green Cheeks. I love my little Bowie so much, Green Cheeks are a species all-their-own, so smart and so loving, yet so complicated and perplexing as well. Probably the best companion-bird there is, but also extremely demanding of your time and attention.

Ask any and all questions you might have, don't ever hesitate to do this. There is no such thing as a "stupid question", so do not every feel that you shouldn't ask something...Welcome!
