Hello everyone,

So, my wife and I made the jump! We have had an African grey Congo for a couple years now that we were looking after for a friend that went to school overseas. We now don't have Benson anymore. An opportunity came up for us to purchase 2 proven pairs of African Grey Timneh's! We thought about it for a while and decided to go for it!

We are very very excited. I brought them home last night and set them up in the garage. We were told that they like their privacy but admittedly we have been back there looking at them and listening to them chirp and say 'hello' and then the other male, well, he just growls.

Anyways, looking forward to chatting back and forth with some of you all.

-Cheers

Welcome and be welcomed. So you're to make a go of breeding them?
Lots of good info here in the sub-forum. Make sure you are prepared well to do this.
Both in time and $$$ for proper care of chicks. Any questions- ask away- we have several
experienced breeders on here. Good Luck!

Welcome! A quad of Greys is a lifestyle change!! Plenty of great advice in the Grey and various other forums, particularly if interested in breeding.

Welcome!

Please do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you have about breeding birds/hand-raising/hand-feeding, as I'm not sure whether or not you have any experience with bird breeding/hand-feeding/hand-raising etc., but obviously I'm assuming that you bought these 2 proven-pairs because you want to breed them. Please keep in-mind that it's best to be fully-prepared BEFORE allowing these guys to breed, or allowing any fertile eggs to hatch. So many things can go wrong, and the key to happy, healthy, successful bird-breeding is to educate yourself fully and make sure that you have everything you need ready to go BEFORE you actually start the process. The worst feeling in the world is to have a newly-hatched chick be rejected by it's parents, and not having a Brooder, or any hand-feeding supplies, or most of all not knowing anything about how to actually hand-feed a baby chick without tragedy happening.

There are several very experienced, accomplished, and reputable breeders who are members of this forum, and myself being one of them I can say that we are all extremely happy to help you in any way we can!
