One-Legged African grey

Hi! My African Grey, Scout, lost one of his legs several months ago due to a raccoon attack. I would like to share information from our experience, and also gain some knowledge from anyone else out there with the same parrot issue.

Welcome to the forum! So sorry to hear about Scout. I know of many parrots with one or both legs or feet missing, they do wonderfully. I am sure you have a lot to share about Scout!

Poor Scout! Parrots are very resiliant and he should be just fine. My CAG, Ruby, lost both back toes from both feet due to constricted toe when she was still in the nest with her parents. She doesn't even notice it and gets around perfectly well.

Hi welcome it will be nice to share experience's I have a disabled congo she is 6 months she was hatched with deformed hips she is so great and we learn new things everyday. welcome

My friend has an African Grey (that I love and help care for) that recently has started flashing his (?) anal area at me. He climbs up the side of the cage and hangs there flashing with pulsating movements. I assume this is sexual and have not responded one way or another. Any ideas on what I should or not do?

Welcome to the forum It amaze me how well parrots adapt to horrible things and make it seem so easy. As for the sexuall moves lol just ignore it , It won't cause any harm except when he get rejected just kidding lol sorry. Well as I said just ignore it it will go away with time. I used to volunteer at a parrotshop and there was an umbrella cockatoo witch is my favorite type of parrot. When I was eating lunch there one day during summer vacation I had her , Her name was dexter and she was on my arm and I went to pick up my sandwitch and I heard "Hi Dexter" I looked over and Dexter just said her first words so I brought her over to my chest to give her a hug since they like to cuddle and she started panting kindof and moving up and down diagonaly to my chest and the owner said that was just breeding behavior and within the next month she just gave up haha.
