Just yesterday Steven mentioned to me, while cleaning Mishka's cage. Mom have you ever thought how many times you have cleaned his cages, feed him, changed his water, trained and played with him in just one month?

He got me thinking, did some calculations

Here goes

Cleaning his 2 cages 60 times per month (+ extras)

Picking up off the floor All day and mopping

Feeding 3 x per day 90 times per month

Offering him our dinner 30 times per month

Giving nuts and fruit 60 times per month

Water 5 x per day 150 times per month (+ extras)

Playing 2 x per day 60 times per month (+ extras)

Training 1 x per day 30 times per month

Talking All day 24/7

Checking on him All day 24/7

LoL Steven told me to work it out, and see if I give and spend that much time with him in a month.....

OMG what do I say to him tonight, when he returns home......

Actually, it's not hard. Like everyone else, you just get used to it. It actually seems really easy to be honest with you when you've been doing it for a while.

The Zon's & Hahn's cages ain't that bad, but the GW cages are pretty dang big so they do take longer to clean. And the cooking (baking) ain't too bad since I enjoy cooking, I'd say the most time consuming and unenjoyable part is trying to keep the floors clean. And that is pretty much impossible, I don't even bother putting up the shop vac or mop and bucket anymore.

Ya, I think the hardest is the floors too. Pellets and food everywhere! Not to mention their little accidents... Though I'm not sure I could live with five (large) birds. That's too far. I'll stick with the conures. :D

I do agree, it's not hard.

It takes me 2 minutes to clean his night cage and 8 minutes the big one..... no no more calculations.....

Actually, the walls are VERY easy to clean, they're vinyl covered and clean up in a snap, no cleaners needed :)

Well, you're talking to a lady who only deals with 10-12" birds.. ;) But Hahn's can be pretty tiny.

LOL Your a speed cleaner! For the conure's cage with all the scrubbing it's about 10-15 minutes, but that's including their playtop. I'm not sure if Mishka has a playtop. If he does I guess I'm just slow. :p
