So i read this in a thread, excuse me???
...... My galah can be loud sometimes, but is not as "intense" as an amazon call.

I'm sorry but i've heard both, we need a poll on which has the most "intense" call. Besides we have more zon parronts. LOL:21:

I think a lot of it also depends on a person's perspective of what they consider "loud" or even "unbearable" -what is unbearable or extremely loud to one person, may not be so for someone else. So to me a galah screeching is more bearable than a Tucuman screaming at full blast.

I couldn't resist saying something about your post. I didn't want to derail the thread. Just poking fun at you. No offense intended.

budgies... Swear Cam is the most annoying bird...

I agree its what you find tolerable. I can take a cockatoo alert / warning screech in my ear better then Cam's nonstop noise.

I'm weird, I know!

As for Zons and Galahs [ the Zons]. But their not bad at my house . Its the Bull horn brothers [the male Ekkies ] Who are the winners here :)

I don't live with any toos. But i work down at the local parrot shelter. Lots of toos, but there's this "gang" of little hoodlums who enjoy tormenting me.Giant aviary filled with flighted toos. And they know idon't like them screaming at me. It's fun to sneak down close to your ear and scream. That and they have to hold your finger while your trying to do something.

I have to agree with Jen about the Budgie LOL!

No, but really, Wendy has got to win for the GWM :11:

But... since were talking about Galahs and your average Amazonian specie... I have to say AMAZON!! :D

Wow, I remember when my Robin was just a little boy in the 90's... I'd hear about Tucuman Amazons being around fairly regularly. Not anymore. I guess they were mainly wild caught back then and not propagated by breeders?

My budgies don't bother me at all, but Darwin's scream sends me right out of my chair. She and Ekko are the worst in my house.

I don't know about "back then" but I had a heck of a time even finding information about them when we adopted him. I have stumbled across breeders online who do still breed them, but they are not as popular or as common these days as the other species. My avian vet said she hadn't seen a tucuman in YEARS...
