Hey Everyone,

Happy Friday!

I'm planning to cook up a big batch of "chop" for Birdie that will last about 3 months. I want to freeze it in 2-3 day portions and since I want to make enough to last a few months, I'm thinking vacuum sealing is the way to go.

Do any of you use a vacuum sealer that you would recommend?

Thanks!

Don't use one, I use freezer bags and squeeze as much air out as I can. Inside the freezer bags I place pleated sandwich bags that contain the actual food, LOL.

How excited are you, Shawna???? :D

We have one and love it. Got it as a present from my MIL. I think she got it from Wal-Mart. It's several years old and still works great.

I also prepare three months worth of chop and freeze it in small portions that comprise about three days worth of meals for my two birds. I've been using a Foodsaver vacuum sealer and I have no complaints. We've had it for about eight years and it works great.
