Margarita loves his toy keys (a plastic set of cockatiel toy keys, not a real set). They are hanging up on the top of his cage. He seems to favour them over all his other toys. Just now I put him back in his cage and touched his keys by accident, he waddled over and fluffed up with his eyes pinning, mumbling something. He was kind of semi-strutting, making his body appear bigger. He is less than 6 months old so it can't be hormones.. does it sound like he is becoming possessive of them? I walked away after his little display lol and he has been playing with the keys ever since.
Another quick question, the last 2 days Margarita has been acting the same way around me, pinning eyes, fluffing up, strutting etc.. but he also bops his head as if he is trying to regurgitate to me. I know he doesn't have a bacterial or yeast infection as I have been taking him to a great avian vet every tuesday for the last 3 weeks to get medication for his sneezing, the vet has checked his stool and throat, he is all clear. He is too young to be hormonal he wouldn't even be 6 months old yet. Is this simply a sign of affection? Sorry if I sound like a concerned mum LOL. Should I mention this to the vet next time I go in?
