Is too much corn bad for lovebirds?

My lovebird, Lucky, does not eat most vegetables. But she loves corn. She does not eat the entire kernel. She squeezes the kernel, and licks the insides out.

Anyway, I read somewhere that too much corn might hinder Lucky's ability to absorb calcium. Anybody else heard such a thing?

The only caution about corn that I found in my files is an article by Dr. Ron Hines:

Your Parrot's Top Ten Health Hazards

Though I do not remember exactly where, but a couple of years ago, I read a post to a UK thread about cracked corn having cut the throat of a companion bird.....you guys are discussing fresh and/or canned corn, I believe.....
