Two cockatiels: Sharlett (Cinnamon Pied) and Data (White-Faced Pied)
So I already know my birds can have kale, carrots, and some bananas but is there any others you guys recommend?

I tried my tiels on sweet potatoes in a noodle shape but I don't think they were very popular. I've heard that dried peppers can be a healthy treat. Is this true?

I know tiels aren't big on fruits or so I've heard but I just want to be able to introduce them to new foods.

Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
I have reasons to suspect that some veggies and fruits may be suitable to some species and unsuitable to others. I would be suspicious of any universal bird safe list. Cockatiels differ from Eclectus more than dogs differ from cats.

I totally agree. But there are some similarities.

I've tried a few things with my own cockateil, Sherbert. He's an awfully picky eater and doesn't try new food all to often. Someone on here recommended eating the food I want him to try while he watches me, which I've done and it has worked! He didn't go straight to eating it but he has at the very least tried what I nibbled on.

As for safe vegetables and foods for cockateils, there are plenty of lists out there on the internet, there is probably one on here somewhere.
Here's a list I found; Cockatiels, Healthy and Nutritious Safe Foods, Safe Fruits, Safe Fruits, Safe Vegetables, Safe Table foods for Cockatiels and Pet Birds. List of Safe Foods, Safe Fruits and Vegetables for Cockatiels and Pet Birds. What foods are safe to feed cockatie
There's also this little PDF book I found on diet; http://www.parrotsecrets.com/Cockatiel/prtdld/Book3-ParrotDiet.pdf
Always check a few sources though. I've seen inconsistencies in some lists.

Birds enjoy chillis/peppers, so they're definitely worth a try. I try to make some new foods a bit more attractive to him on his first try by putting something like almond butter/palm nut oil on the new food (only a tiny bit).

Thank you so much! I have heard about peppers and I want to get the fids to try them. I try to show them what I am nibbling on but unless it's chips they don't usually want it!

Definate no-no is avocado and chocolate. But anything on those attached lists are fine, but I would make it simple. I found cockatiels like wet greens attached to a cage bar vs. chopped. I have chola perches and sliver up different veg and put them in the spaces. Sometimes it is all in the presentation. My Senegal won't eat broccoli in a chop but if I hand him a spear it is quickly devoured. If you use hard veg like sweet potato or winter squash, nuke it for a minute just to soften. I feed very little fruit. It spoils too quickly if left in the cage. And I stick to the less sugary fruits. I do fresh sprouting and I found the Cockatiels loved it.
