fresh or frozen veg

just wondering wich would be the better one fresh or frozen veg thank you

I use frozen mixed veggies. Seems like each of my birds have there own favorite vegetable.
Bella likes the carrots, Bingo likes corn.

I use to give my OWA and RLA raw veggies. Only some of the time would they eat it that way.

For the veggies, I use some of both. It's sometimes just a matter of what they will eat. Frozen is obviously convenient, but worthless if they won't eat them. As above, my two will pick out their favorites from the frozen mix. I remove the corn from my ekkie's bowl because it can cause issues with him, but it's my YNA's first choice. I mix in lots of fresh stuff as well, and try to vary the offering as much as I can.

I use some frozen veggies , sometimes I have to put in the cast iron skillet and cook some of the excess water off before they will eat them. They do prefer fresh st my house. Don’t forget the leafy greens like the spring salad mix greens really have lots of vitamins and nutrition. I have a little more luck with frozen berries when they are out of season I use the frozen.
The chili peppers have lots of vitamin A they are cheap sbd always available around here.
So glad you know the importance of veggies in the diet. So many new bird owners aren’t aware. Heck I myself once didn’t know how much budgies liked their greens!
I’m always trying to sneakily educate pet store workers in the hopes they pass it on to new bird owners. My local pet store has a big turn over in the young people that work there, so I work it into a conversation when eve I get supplies....sometimes I do such a good sales pitch they will bring in lettuce for the budgie st the pet store I try and talk them into shallow dishes for baths to one time I visited and a Quaker had so many pin feathers, and I talked them into a bath right there. That was one happy splashy Quaker!!!

From a technical stance, fresh is better in terms of maximum vitamin levels etc. From a practical stance, frozen is fine.
If you can't do fresh, do frozen (thawed etc).

You need to google your breed, to see. Most birds its all about the size its chopped (or not) and its at room temp. As long as its served at room temp, you can freeze a larger batch to feed from (say an ice tray in a baggy). Some things like a sweet potato need to be steamed and sized. Fruits can even be on the raw side and still kept to a minimum, because of the sugars. I use google.com and youtube.com quite a bit, just to check and provide variety. Greens for snacks i generally clip to the cage bars. jh
