Senegal Parrot
:green:So, my hubby went out yesterday and bought Rio a new home, a rather large new home. When I brought him home, he was in a small cage that looked overcrowded with all of his toys that he brought with him. I was thinking that it would be nice of me to buy him a new home. So we looked and looked and found one that we thought he would like, and he went to look at it and decided to buy it for Rio. The cage that he bought is huge! It looks like it should would fit a larger parrot than my small senegal.
Rio doesn't like to be in his cage unless he is napping, at nighttime, eating, or if we are away from home. We let him out as much as possible and he likes to play with his toys and whatnots on top of his cage and on his playstand. Since he is out of his cage when we are home, and he has plenty of play room, I was wondering if it would be necessary to have a larger cage??? If I were to get him a new cage, how big should I go because he won't be getting much bigger???;) I was just thinking that if we got him a bigger one, he would be able to climb, we could get more toys for him, like a swing and ladders and more perches and those nifty foraging box things. But, on the other hand, is it worth it if he is only in his cage at night or when we are sleeping or at work??

well my nut has 2 cages a small sleep cage, that we put her in for when we have our dinners before bed, and a main cage that like you said is huge! she is hardly ever in the main cage, but i like to think when i am at work she is not in a cage were she is cramped

she has perches outside of her main cage and a food dish, and some toys as well :) but like your rio, she is only in it when no one is at home

when my man is home she is on my man, when its just me and her, she is happy on her cage and to call me over to give her a head rub, or generally gettin up to no good!! like chewing the walls etc, when my son is at home, she likes to play with him, and attack his toes! but she never bites hard
