cage placement

This is not so much of a question as it is asking for advice.

Savannah was relatively quiet when we first brought her home. She seems to be getting louder over time. Now she seems to start squaking at every little noise. Be it a door opening or a plastic bag being shuffled in the other room. Sometimes when we talk she will try to one up us. Which I know this could be her wanting to "be a part" of everything but I feel she just doesn't like it. This is because most times she will get low, flatten her feathers, shake her wings, and squawk. Hope that makes sense....

Anyway, when my husband goes underway I stay with my parents. Savannah is put in the guest bedroom where I sleep. She is almost completely silent at my parent's house and so incredibly friendly when I take her out that I almost think she is a different bird. I just had her out on my lap for about a half hour while I, basically, was able to pet her like a dog which she normally won't let me do. This makes me think that I should move her cage at my house.

The way the house is set up, she is placed in a corner where she can view the kitchen, computer, dining, and living room. So, obviously, the most active spot in the house. The only other places I can think to put her would be upstairs either in the guest room or our bedroom. She would only be able to have access to us when we wanted to or at night. I was also thinking that I could have a stand downstairs with us that she can be on durning the day and when she gets loud, I will put her up. What do you all think? I stay at home so I will still be able to take her out a lot. Is it a bad idea to put her in a room without regular foot traffic?

Merlins cage is mainly in our bedroom, on nice days I move it to the dining room. Theres alot of traffic in there. He seems to like sleeping in our room, I dont know if I could change it @ this point.

I've tried putting Penelope's cage in a few different places. She did not like my dining room as it is a low traffic area. She did not like being next to the couch in my living room as there is a blind door and "things" (read people) can pop out unannounced. I have her cage in my living room now. She can see people as long as they're downstairs, so nothing is popping out, her back is to a wall and left side is about 2 feet from a wall and no-one can get within 5 feet of her without being seen. She seems to prefer that.

Basically, she prefers a well trafficked area, but one with good line of sight.
