Hi all :) My bird has two infections and has two prescriptions, both liquid in syringes. This particular bird has never been sick, so I don't know what I am up against. Last one that I had to do this for was a budgie and he successfully bit the tip off the syringe. Vet advice was favorite foods, peanut butter....Anyone have anything "out of the box" I might need to have as a back up plan :)
Thank you!

Mixing with all natural fruit juice can help. My vet mixed something with the meds that my birds loved it....

I've had birds accept liquid meds by putting a drop or two on the broken end of a pretzel rod. They ate the pretzel and never balked at the taste. Either use whole wheat pretzels, or unsalted, or rub salt off of regular pretzels. If you have to give more than a drop or two, keep adding meds as bird eats pretzel. It didn't always work, but, it did sometimes. You could use crackers, pellets, or any food that will absorb meds, and bird likes.

Thank you, I am going to try both suggestions. He loves Peanut Butter Cherios so I put it in those and they absorbed it. He ate the dry ones, but did not like the medicated ones. He was not interested in fruit flavored yogurt either. I will press on in the AM.

Turns out that Mango does the trick. I just let it absorb the medication. I hope it does the trick :)
