Goffin Cockatoo, perfers men

My boyfriend and I are looking to get a 1 year old Goffin Cockatoo. But the only thing that is holding me back is that the lady told be that she prefers males and not women. This scares me, with the bird being so young could this be changed?? I dont know the history on the bird, but is it possible I could gain its trust? Thanks for your answers. :white1:

Also I had a lesser Cockatoo growing up so I do have bird experience but it has been awhile so I will just have to gain my confidence back.

Can the lady provide proof that the bird is indeed only 1 year old? And I'd be a bit cautious because if a LADY is wanting to rehome such a young bird, and she was the prime caretaker, then why would such a young bird prefer men?

I'm sure with patience, and lots of TLC the bird will come around for you.

Yes I have been thinking about this alot and I think im gonna keep looking and get a young one from a breeder or a very well trusted family owned pet store where I got my other cockatoo from.
Now I just gotta figure out what I want lol
