Hi everyone, my parrot Ricki has his feathers looking wet on one side of his abdomen. From his wing to his claw.. It's been like this for two days now, is this normal or should he be visiting the vet??
I really need help guys.

Has he been around any greasy foods? My friends African gray once got a spot of grease on his head making it look wet.
Has his behavior changed at all? Are you able to post clear photos?

I think a bath with plain water should be the first thing to try. If the bird is afraid of going into a shower, try using a misting bottle.

Does it smell like anything? Have you looked under the feathers to see if it wasn't some skin irritation?
Getting wet from the bowl is normal but not for 2 straight days. Unless its oil or grease.

This actually happened after I gave him a bath.. and yes his skin was red underneath .. but not like an irritation. I will give him a bath today and get back to you guys c: Any dietary suggestions though? He only eats watermelon, sunflower, chilli and guava seeds.

Well, that diet isn't likely to be balanced and provide full nutrition for him. You could try introducing him to pellets in addition.
Absolutely not a balanced diet...I used to imagine the same thing, a few different fruits and veg should be enough, right? Wrong...as soon as I took him to the vet for a blood test I found out how wrong! Pellets are good as part of a balanced diet, but for me pellets plus a veg or two is not enough, after that first scare I started making a bean/veg/fruit chop. Really improves the bird, both in behavior and health!
It really does look like grease...but if a good soaking does not take it off, I would definitely see a vet. Beautiful bird BTW!

Just a word of caution to members here, this bird and owner are located in Dubai so may have limited options as to the foods that they can feed.
Turtle, please go check out the local pet stores! You may be able to find pellets by Kaytee Exact, Zupreem and Harrison's. There may be another brand(s) that I am unaware of. From those brands, Harrison's would be considered the best. If Harrison's is out of your price range, the next best is Zupreem.

Try apples, bell peppers, carrots, pasta (but of course no toppings, no sauce no nothing! My parrot prefers it uncooked.) rice, lettuce..
Just tell me the fruits and veggies that you get home everyday and I'll tell you what to feed! I usually chop a mix of veggies, fruits and beans, and put them all together in tupperware, searving him whenever he finishes his load.
Dubai has almost everything, I guess. I wonder why you only chose these ones.

Dubai. You can get a Bugatti Veyron, but you cant get decent parrot food. Times are hard...
