Hi Everyone,

I have a almost 2 year Princess Parrot that is full flight and has decided her new favorite place to land is my brand new couch, where I don't want her to land. Any advice on how to deter or stop her from landing there. As soon as she lands I take her away from there but she immediately will go right back.

I am 71, married and fairly private. I have PM privileges but prefer the phone. Printed messages, are so limited. jh
Sounds like you need a perch or two, with maybe some toys at them; to keep her occupied. jh

Truly there is nothing more tempting to the parrot brain than forbidden fruit, or in your case, a nice and probably expensive new couch. Add to that your attempts to shoo her off of it and it suddenly becomes completely irresistible! I splashed out last year and bought a brand new leather couch and, knowing my birds the way i do, immediately covered it with throw blankets and an unused quilt cover (all natural fibres in case someone chews on them!) Visitors to our house are accustomed to seeing the measures we have taken in birdproofing the place so no-one bats an eyelid :)
