Keeping a Sun Conure Outside Year-Round

Hi all! So, Iā€™ve been thinking of getting a sun conure, which has to stay outside year-round. During the warmer months, this is no problem because I have a nice shaded spot for the hot days. I also will be free flight training outside in a netted area to begin with. My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors anyway, so socializing is not an issue.

Now for the winter months, Iā€™ve been developing a plan. I would construct a shed: using wood, wraps, insulation, etc. And I would keep the cage within this shed (big enough for the cage + extra room). Now I know heaters may cause issues with the conure, so would I use heat lamps instead? Is there any advice to make this as bird safe during the winter as possible? Or is it not do-able.
Thank you! :orange:

Not a great idea on so many different levels of which many end with the death of the Parrot.

Reconsider another non-feathered pet that is more likely able to survive your plans.

I know that some people keep their birds out during the winter in outdoor aviaries and create a safe spot for them. Iā€™m just wondering how they have theirs set-up.

Are Sun Conure's native to your area? If not, my statement stands.
One miss-step and they die. So, what had you than gained...

I plan to set-up an almost a mini-house for the bird. Closed off and heated. Just looking for ways to keep it as warm as possible. Thanks for your input though.
