Hi All,

We got our girl at the end of January. She will 9 months June 3rd. She is pretty lean and a finicky eater. Kai flies a lot, so I think her weight is reflective of her exercise as well as picky eating. She eats Harrison's high potency(always available) and gets nuts(brazil, pecan, almond)/ fresh fruit (some veg. daily). She always has a bowl of TOPS available, but she doesn't eat it really. Anyways, her beak has slowly been getting weird. What do you all think? Am I not feeding her properly?

There's nothing wrong with her beak or what you're feeding her, though I'd try to go heavy on the veggies and some fruit instead of the other way around.

So I am the classic, over-worried, bird parent :p Thanks! :) I try harder with the veg. it's hard enough just to get her to eat as much as she does, and she doesn't eat them very much.

Sounds to me like you're doing great. Birds beaks are like fingernails. They grow and flake. It's normal.

Its normal, they show wear the more they get used, and they grow like finger nails.

Her beak also looks normal to me.
I think you are a wonderful parront and she is gorgeous!
Have you tried putting chunks of veggies on a birdie skewer? She may try them if she thinks they're a toy.
