You should do a treat test... If you already know your birds favourites, you can use them... Put them all in your hand or a container, and see what your bird picks first... Eliminate that one and try again, until you have 4 treats that your bird loves... Do this over a few days...

When you have your 4 treats, put them in your hand or bowl, and see what the bird picks first... This will be your most valuable treat...

Mitred Conure - Charlie 1994;
Cockatiel - Casey 2001;
Wild Caught ARN - Sylphie 2013
Sunflower seeds chopped up, safflower seeds (not ideal), tidbits of different healthy nuts (almond, walnut, pistachio, etc), dried fruit with no additives, plain cheerios, etc. It can be anything he enjoys!

Tich. A Green-Cheeked Blue Conure. Hatched 6th May 2012 <3
Tich loves sunflower seeds so you could try those. Or you can try cutting bits of fruit up. You need something that's small that they won't be eating for ages so they can focus on the training.
