Hi all,
We visited a parrot breeder today, because we're interested in expanding our flock with a new Blue throated macaw. It's still a very young bird, so it's gonna take some time before he/she will come home with us. My dad went with us too, to take a look. He's a bit worried about the fact that this is a bird who's a bit behind with the growth of his/her feathers. The other parrot is from the same date but does have already more grown feathers.
So my question is if this actually would make a difference in health issues later on, or will a parrot who grows a bit slower, be as strong as the other one later on?
I do have some pictures, one of the two is the brother/sister of the bird I'm talking about. The bird with less grown feathers is the only one left. The other one already got a new home.
