cleaning an alex!

My lil' feathers has some dried powdered food next to his beak. Any advice on how to get it off? It's hard as a rock i've tried soaking it but the little guy doesn't really like water so much. Maybe time to introduce him to the shower? I think hanging out in there for a while on mist might make the lump easy to break off.
