I have been worried about the saliva as well. I keep lips sealed and don't let him in.
There again he eats off my plate as well. Shares all my food. He doesn't want his own birdie plate because our plate does fine. I think that has really formed a great bond with him. Sometimes he gets mad if we try to eat the part that he is munching on at the time. It has become his in his mind. LOL He loves yogurt too. He loves to suck milk out of cheerios then spit them back. I know the dairy thing but it is so cute. I usually try to hide from him while eating cereal so he won't be tempted.
If we don't want Loki to have something, we literally cannot eat anywhere in his vicinity. It's one of the reasons we're glad the cages are in our bedroom! Sugar drank actual milk last night, like grabbed a hold of the glass as Hubs was trying to drink out of it and was insisting on it, by attempting to pull it towards her. TOO funny! I don't recommend it, but I do a lot of other things to ensure their safety. No candles, no incense (which is KILLING me, btw), no avocado's/chocolate/coffee (OMG, Loki tries to drink my coffee! THAT drives me insane!)
and no alcohol despite the fact that Loki goes balistic over beer bottles. Seriously, he has to be locked in his cage if Hubs has a beer! Just seeing the bottle makes the little guy go crazy. I figure, if he was going to die from my saliva, it would have happened already as much as he eats and drinks after us

And he was just at the Vet's and checked out fine.
