Flying high birds sanctuary

So last weekend my hubby and I went to Bundaberg for a release of a new type of Bundy rum. Since we were there for the weekend, I asked if we could visit the Flying High Bird Sanctuary. It was only about 40km from Bundaberg.

We only could spread about 1.5 hrs there as we then had a 3.5 hr drive home in the Sunday but we were able to make our way around the whole aviary. It is Australias largest free flight aviary. They had sun conures, Alex's, macaws, ecletus, all sorts of cockatoos, doves, pigeons etc. Some were in the free flight aviary and some were in enclosures within the free flight.

The rum tasting when exceptionally well.

If you purchased a bottle of the new rum you got a free drink of one of the others that was released a few days earlier. Also if you went on the tour, they gave you 2 free drinks of your choice. I must say for anyone who is able to visit the Bundy factory and purchase the Bundy liqueur then it is a must try. Simply yummy.

The only down side was I now need another job to pay for the bottles that hubby HAD to HAVE. . Certainly not a cheap day out, that is for sure.

I've been there when I went I had all sorts of birds land on me I live in qld too...

This guy followed me all around but was so scared of the sun conures. Every time he would see one, he would screech and take off. Once they were out of sight, he would fly back to me. He was such a cutie.

Where abouts in Qld are you?

Never been to the Bundi Distillery, but have been through Casa Bacardi in Cataño, Puerto Rico & enjoyed their wares ! ! !

Amannndaaaah!? Where's my free sample then? And what was the new Bundy released today? What does it taste like? And can you get the liqueur in ordinary grog shops or do you have to get it from the Bundy shop?

I do love Bundy so very much. Yummitty!

aaaaaarrr Trish the samples tasted so good, they did not have a hope of not being drunk. They actually released 3 new bottles. There is the mutiny (spiced rum) and the select vat - these will be available at most bottle shops. The other was a special one that you had to register for and we stood around in the hot sun for 6 hours to collect it. There was only a limited number of bottles made. It is only available from the bond store at the rum factory. We have not tried them yet.

The liqueur is unfortunately only available at the bond store or you can buy it online but in bottles of 12 only. Next time we pass throught that way I can get a bottle for you and send it to you. I will let you know.
