GCC Bandit happily hangs out on the seed catcher around her cage. That doesn't seem normal ... your thoughts?
She spent most of the first year of her life in a glass-front display cage at a pet store. I brought her home about six weeks ago and put her in a 20x20x50-ish cage on a stand. The top of her cage (with playtop) is at about 5 feet.
Her cage is about 10 feet from her "older brother," a 25-year-old Quaker Parrot (the avatar cuz he's so handsome). His cage is slightly larger, but same heights.
Everything I've read says that these birds prefer being higher rather than lower for general comfort and safety.
So, anyone have ideas about why this bird hang out on the seed catcher? Not always, but probably half the time she's out of her cage. She also seems quite fearless in general.
Thanks so much.
