Hit and Run Car Crash :(

Well last night at 3 am my husband and I where woke up by the sounds of cops banging on our door. When I opened the door all I seen was my SUV basically in parts all over our yard. I was in shock to say the least. We had a drunk driver loose control of his truck go off the road and through our yard , over our driveway, take out my SUV, come up on our front porch and hit our BBQ take it out, which hit my Bird room (which is in the front of the house) before he drove off without stopping.

We Sleep in the basement of the house and we had our Fan on must of went into a deep sleep because we heard NOTHING ! I was so thankful my SUV was parked where it was or the guy would have drove right into the birds bedroom where there cages are that they sleep at night. It more then likely would have killed them both.

The SUV is completely road off so im not sure what he was driving to be able to take out a SUV but it had to be big. Last night here in our town was PROM night so we are thinking it was a drunk Teenager, but we do not know for sure and we are offering a 500 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of the person driving the truck. We have posted with the news papers and radio in our town so far. But we are tring to get the word out as much as we can.

Im just thankful my birds where not hurt and my husband and I where not hurt. That is the main thing to think about I guess right now. But I cant help feel scared to death to fall asleep. I have not slept sence it happen. I just keep waiting for him to come again. Here are some pictures of my SUV.

Oh no! That's incredible! Disturbing to think what could have happened. I'm so glad to hear it was not worse than it already is, and everyone is okay. I hope they catch the person with the smashed vehicle themselves! Prom night, hmm... Good luck with this.

Dang! As a highway patrol, my husband has dealth with this numerous times. Over and over, again and again, he's seen people do stupid things such as this. I'm so thankful nobody was hurt in your situation.

My friend had a drunk driver basically do the same thing. Ran over everything and landed in the inground pool. Took a very long time to get all the repairs completed on her property. Although nobody was harmed, she had a difficult time getting over the disaster.

I am so sorry that happened, but I am glad your family and birds are safe! The car is replaceable, and it sounds like it took the impact instead of your irreplaceable birds.

I'm sure the police will find the guy. If they did that bad of damage to your car, they had to have done some pretty severe damages to theirs! Especially if you suspect a drunk teen- mom and dad aren't going to not notice their kid comes home with their car half destroyed.

That is terrifying! I am so thankful that you and the birds are okay. I hope they find the culprit soon.
