Not really a question, I'm just happy and wanted to share
We've had our 4 parrotlets for about 2 months now and in the past week both females have been checking out their boxes quite a bit. Now, SweetPea has spent the past 4 days holed up in her nest box and has only been coming out to eat so hopefully she will lay some eggs soon. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, they are young pairs that have never bred before and I know that sometimes parrotlets don't do so well with their first clutch. On top of that, they are not tame at all and are pretty fearful of me. Aside from cleaning their cages and feeding them I don't really mess with them. I try to move as slow as possible around them and talk very quietly to them but they still act a bit nuts at times. They've gotten better and seem to be realizing that I'm not a threat but I hope that all goes well.
