Harley, my new Panama Amazon, appears to spending a lot of time scratching and preening. What are some of the reasons he could be acting so itchy? Poor diet? Needing a bath? Mites?

All of the above, even though I doubt Harley has mites.

He could also be going through a molt, and those pesky pinnies could be bothering him.

Maybe he is still a bit nervous in his new home? Does he do it when you approach - or does he also do it when you're across the room? Our Meyers scratches her head/chin ALOT when she is nervous.
