Do toys distract parakeets from mating, again my keets are a bonded pair but they seem to distracted with the toy in their cage

In all my years of breeding birds, I always provided them with toys. If they desire to breed, they will do it, toys or not. Can you imagine sitting in a room with nothing to entertain you?

Indian Ringneck Parrot;
had
a Senegal &
2 love birds
my keet loved his bell! he would talk to it all day, sit by it, put his head in it and his face. it was so funny to see him there with his bell on his head!
the other keet was more active and didn't give a hoot about the bells.
