Sir Kiwi is a fan of a wide range of music, but has an especially amusing reaction to classical. I put on some classical piano this morning for him and he gave me quite the performance! Now, I know some birds are singers but mine is more of a dancer. He put on quite the impassioned ballet for me, carefully swaying and spinning to the music. It was so adorable :smile015::smile015::smile015:

Afterwards, he got all happy and started super excitedly preening then ruffled up in the most content pose I think I may ever have seen a parrot in. Calming piano music, raining outside, low lighting in the office... a winning combination for a bird! Just check out the level of neck/head ruffle and the little 'wing flaps' are down too. Just too cute when he is THIS content:green:

Amy doesn't give a parrots patootie about any kind of music  Just does not care. As I have mentioned before,Jonesy,on the other hand went all goofy with classic rock'n'roll...go figure?
I agree however, when an Amazon is "in the swing" of things, they just don't care :D WTG Kiwi!

Ralph the QP is a classical music fan too-- Beethoven symphonies are his favorite, and he'll stop what he's doing to listen. :) He likes jazz and standards and 60's rock too. Scooter the CAG is much like Amy the Amazon, and has no interest in music. My YCA George was an opera fan and liked to sing along. :D

... add some classic heavy metal and here you have Cytrynka’s music spectrum :46:

@Scott: “Classic” is the key :D

I haven't tried classical, calrk loves the milky tones of Olivia newton john and some katy perry, mostly female artists. I'll have to try some beathoven bach and braum and help me amedeus. :gcc:

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread, but this is plain ludicrous (warning: "birdcore" tune)

Lol.

Re the art: I'm glad someone else sees the Cthulhu/Parrot connection:p Green water loving demon? See above!:green::16:

For a very different style of music the small Sir likes (this one he dances very differently to and is an all time favorite as is 'Super space invaders"!).

I follow Ellie the reading cockatoo. Her owner lets her choose the music they listen to via flash cards and Ellie's favorite is classical.

Their FB page.

I haven't found any certain type of music Bill likes. He does like to dance upside down hanging on his bell ringing it as loud as he can!

Have you tried opera? Most DYHs and YNAs seem to appreciate it (probably because these 2 amazons tend to have similar vocal patterns if you listen carefully).

Dancing upside down while ringing a bell is a very amazon thing to be doing! When encouraged not to be perch potatoes, they really are quite acrobatic and funny birds to watch!

Julio is big time opera fan! With orange spinning eyes and in Amazon voice, sing along! As stated, he also loves a beat and the upside down movements are filled with both sound and action.

Julio and Salty share their discrininating taste for the fine classics 'Boats. Put some female arias on and he sings p a storm, and we all knew that he already has memorized that famous piece form Wagners Ride of the Valkrie. Salty also likes old time Gospel - basically anything with a strong female lead. He makes his own melody line up, but odly enough stays in key !!
