Well, really she was my parents' dog. She was a big gorgeous grey Briard. Dad called this morning and said she had a heart attack while playing with Mum and Booboo (a 1-year-old tibetan mastiff), they rushed her to the vet who tried to recussitate her but failed.
We got her when I was about twelve, she was about three years old then. I am lucky that I went home for dad's birthday only two weekends ago so I got to see her before she went.
Anyway, she was about fifteen so I guess it was her time to go. As much as I don't like smelly dogs my own Phoebe had a special place in my heart and I am very sad that she's gone now :-(
Booboo has freaky eyes and looks like he's going to bite you at any second and I really don't like him! Don't ever anybody get a tibetan mastiff, they are really really guardy and growly and just generally scary.

So sorry to hear this news. I remember when my grandparents golden retriever (13yrs) was put to sleep from serious illness. I don't know what was harder, the dog dying or watching my grandparents go through the pain. They become like children to their owners.

Oh QC, how heartbreaking. :(

I'm so sorry for your tragic loss. It's always so difficult when someone dies, especially someone so beloved. It doesn't matter if it's feathered, furred, scaled, or human; they're all people and it's so hard to deal with losing them. My heart goes out to you.

Max (our other Briard) died about three years ago of cancer. Here are some pictures of them:
