Alexandrine Parakeet
We are new owners of a 3 week old Alexandrine Parakeet called kiffy. He/She is 6 weeks old this week and seems to be doing fine. Just one question, dose anyone think its worth going to a vet just to get the bird checked over? Cheers and any advice about feeding from soft food to seed would be great also!
Cheers Lisa and Dazzer

It absolutely is worth it! I think a lot of other forum users will second this statement! Knowing you bought a healthy baby for starters is important, building a relationship with an avian vet can save your pets life because many will only see existing clients for emergencies, and lastly if you only go when you have a sick bird, a vet can know what doesn't look right but doesn't know what is NORMAL for YOUR bird which may deviate from the excepted norm!
