So I went to the local grocery store, and they have the bag your own nuts section. I seen they had a mixed nut blend, roasted, but unsalted. I picked some up hoping I could give it to the parrots as treats. Good idea or bad?

I don't know. I didn't buy much, everything was shelled. I tried them, and they tasted good to me. I guess I didn't think about that.

We give our birds unsalted raw nuts purchased from a high-end grocery store here. I would think roasted but unsalted would be safe, but verify on the label that there are no other ingredients. By law, all food products have to have a list of ingredients, granted at certain levels they don't have to declare them, but those are at very minute levels.

I believe only peanuts have the mold issue. Of course, most things can get moldy, but properly stored nut meats should be okay.
