Opinions- Is cardboard safe?

All of my birds I've ever had chewed cardboard never had an issue.

Foo likes boxes. This one got a poo on it though and we had to take it away before it was thoroughly chewed up..she seems less than ok with us taking it.

My Poppy loves loves loves cardboard boxes, she can find so many ways to enjoy them. My smaller birds prefer small pieces of cardboard attached to chew toys.
