Pellets dilemma

ok so i used to feed Klaus zupreem natural pellets for a long time, until i
managed to get my hands on a lot of harrisons instead, a few months ago.
the best thing with him is that he took to both of them instantly and doesn't
mind which one i feed him. since harrisons is the best choice, i just kept on
giving him that.

now, even though i felt better that he's now eating even healthier pellets,
i still couldn't get over how much he was wasting. it's not a matter of
throwing away his food. it's just that the vet only sells the big sized coarse
pellets and klaus just seems to drop most of what i give him to the bottom
of his cage. he grabs one, starts eating and drops most of its parts down
while just consuming a bit. whenever i check on him, i see around 80% of
his food at the bottom of the cage.

he never had that problem with the medium sized zupreem natural pellets
so i decided i'd switch back to those.. to save money and be sure that he's
eating almost all that he's offered instead of wasting it all. everything seems
to be going alright now but i keep thinking maybe i made a wrong decision?

I am having the exact same problem with my CAG, but I am switching over from a seed/pellet mix to all pellet mix and let me tell you, the bottom of the cage is COVERED in pellets.

My vet suggested to offer her a bit in the morning, then take it out before I leave, and then offer her more in the evening and then before bed. I am doing that but she is still tossing it away. I don't know what to do :| I am positive she was fed junk seed most of her life and trail mix so this is rough.

lol!! so true! My conure did fine switching over, and I don't know his background since he just flew onto my hand in my backyard and I never found his owners. His feathers are much more vibrant and stunning now since I found him so I figured he wasn't eating healthy before. And our amazon did fine too......ugh picky Chloe and her junk food.
