So, we have had Petey, our new cinnamon green cheek, for about a week now. Things have been a bit hectic but we are slowly settling into a new routine with two birds. Petey is a five year old conure whom we adopted from a family that couldn't keep him. Remi is a four year old normal green cheek conure and we got him as a rehome from a pet store last year.
Anyway, the boys are still weary of each other. When they get closer to each other, they bicker. They each have their own flight cage, but they have shared some fruit in a neutral territory (kitchen counter). Hopefully, with time, they will learn to coexist peacefully. I will not keep them in the same cage though.
It has been double work, double mess, but double amount of love as well, lol.
They are both people oriented and love human attention though they are different in showing it. Remi loves beak rubs and snuggling, Petey loves preening my cheek and ear.
Anyway, hopefully the boys enjoy their life together in the years to come :51:
