I have plans to go buy materials to make toys for my CAG, but I caught her eating and trying to swallow the leather from one she has now, and I suspect she may have eaten some wood from another toy. I am going to keep a very close eye on her in case she needs to go to the vet, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on materials that would be safe.
I know it's not because she's hungry, she gets fruit and yogurt in the morning, seeds to graze on all day and then grains and veggies at night. She only had two pathetic toys in her cage when I bought her, so is it possible she doesn't know how to just play with them, rip them up and drop them? Is there a way she can be taught this to the degree that I could leave her with toys while I am away? I wouldn't want to leave her with nothing to entertain herself, but I also need to protect her.
what a silly girl !
