Hello! Today happened something strange when I removed my 2 baby lovebirds from the nesting box. They started to fly chaotic in my house, and they chirp. When I get out my 2 baby lovebird to play with them I cover the 2 adult lovebird. Why they flew? I don't think they was scared of me. Or maybe yes? If yes, why?

P.S.: Every day (before this day) they enjoyed to stay on my hand, but today I don't know what happened.

Thank you for your answer.

If they are babies, they are probably just trying out their new wings :) Baby birds grow very very fast, and their brains learn new things all the time. If they have always stayed on your hand before today my guess is that they are fledging right now. I suggest you allow them to fly. I know there are mixed feelings on clipping wings here and I won't get into that whole argument, but early on when a bird is first learning to fly their brains are developing in ways that they cannot if they don't fly. It is somewhat similar to the way human brains develop. Did you know that a human baby who never learns to crawl (like if he is placed in a walker all the time and goes straight to walking and skips crawling all together) that child will very likely develop learning disabilities, and specifically may not be able to learn to read? For this reason, some kindergartens even teach kids to crawl who never learned as babies! Your baby birds still like you, but like children they need to play and explore and learn. Be happy! They are being normal babies! =D

I agree with silver sage, it's normal :) birds don't stay babies forever :)
