Tail feather colors

Basil is going through a very slow molt but is getting a new tail feather. I’ve always wondered in his 22 years of age why the tips of his tail feathers are very light. Almost white. The rest of the tail feathers are normal but just the tips seem to do this. I will see if I can get a picture but he don’t like his tail messed with.

I also out a deposit down on an SI female, just waiting for blood tests to ensure she is healthy. So hopefully Paprika will be mine and coming home soon.

That's absolutely normal coloring for his tail feathers. Different sub-species vary in the coloration of the tips.
