Last yeah when I rescued BB there was a very small Sheath on his Tail Feather. The one on there now is HUGE . Up until now I have been able to even play with his tail Feathers but I worry about hurting that one. Besides baths is there anything I need to do . Helping him with it ? Treat it like any Pin feather ?

:( I got pinched yesterday for doing it wrong on his neck lol

Sorry there should not be a s on the Sheaths lol Its only one feather that i can see right now

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Maggie lets Sarah do her tail feathers...

A lot of birds don't like their tail feathers being touched. Depends on whether or not he permits it.

You can try, but Sweepea, for one, does not like those tail pinnies touched.

Unlike head feathers, they can reach their own tail feathers, so he can open it if he really tries...

Ok well think I will leave that one alone for a day or so. He is not in the best mood the last week or two .

Thanks Mark.
